Fayetteville-based real estate company Collier & Associates said Tuesday (Aug. 25) that it’s established what it says is a first-of-its-kind, private-label partnership with Compass International Holdings, a New York-based real estate services company.
Stuart Collier, founder and principal broker of Collier & Associates, said the company pays a set amount per year to use Compass International’s proprietary technology.
According to a news release, Collier has not relinquished any ownership in Collier & Associates and retains 100% ownership of the company. The new relationship is expected to combine Collier & Associates with the technology, infrastructure and resources of one of the largest real estate networks.
“Our mindset has always been to challenge the standard – to try, adjust, build and create,” Collier said. “The motivation has always been service and impact. We continually ask ourselves: How can we give our agents the greatest competitive advantage so they can provide the highest level of service to their clients?”
Compass operates in approximately 120 countries and territories and manages a large group of independent brokerage and franchise brands, including Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Century 21, Coldwell Banker, ERA and Sotheby’s International Realty. Shares of Compass (NYSE: COMP) closed Tuesday at $11.82, up 27 cents or 2.34%. In the past 52 weeks, the stock has ranged between $6.37 and $13.95.
The private-label structure allows Collier & Associates to remain Collier & Associates, with no change to the company’s name or brand.
“We weren’t interested in becoming another company,” Collier said. “We wanted to remain who we are while gaining access to resources that can help our agents and clients thrive in a rapidly changing industry. This gives us the best of both.”
Through the new deal, Collier & Associates agents will gain access to more technology and resources to support client engagement, marketing, business development, training, data and real estate opportunities, the release shows. The relationship also creates opportunities for greater connectivity across a large network of real estate brands and agents, potentially expanding the inventory, information and resources Collier & Associates agents can bring to their clients.
“This is what makes the opportunity so exciting,” Collier said. “We can maintain our name, our culture, our independence and the way we operate while adding another level of resources behind our agents.”
The company plans to continue investing in its own resources, such as Collier Connect, the firm’s proprietary platform designed to connect agents, buyers, and off-market real estate. The firm highlighted the importance of human relationships, something technology cannot replace.
