Stock Market Sectors: Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed higher in the Monday’s session.

Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 20.01%), MOIL Ltd.(up 3.70%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 3.45%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.67%), NMDC Ltd.(up 1.02%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 0.50%), KIOCL Ltd.(up 0.29%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 0.13%) and The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 0.10%) stood among the top gainers.

Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 5.00%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 3.96%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 2.56%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 1.42%) and Pokarna Ltd.(down 0.03%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 30.25 points up at 22959.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 57.65 points at 75996.86.

Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 3.31%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 2.91%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 2.33%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 2.28%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 2.08%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 2.01%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 1.91%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.67%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.37%) and Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.34%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 3.77%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 2.42%), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.9%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.78%), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.76%), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(down 0.74%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.72%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 0.49%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.48%) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.46%) closed in the red.
