Stock Market Live Updates: Nifty, Sensex still red, banks down the most

The Delhi High Court quashed the DRI summons related to foreign exchange against Hero Motocorp Chairman Pawan Munjal today.

Hero Motocorp Ltd shares are currently down 0.13%, trading at ₹5,504.25 on the BSE.

The Nifty Media index rose the most among sectoral indices, up by 1.95%, moved by Nazara Technologies Ltd (+2.92%), Dish TV India Ltd (+2.88%), PVR INOX Ltd (+2.61%), Saregama India Ltd (+2.57%), and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (+2.37%)

The Nifty Bank index slid 1.39% or 717.75 points, reaching 51,060.55, falling the most among all sectors.

Axis Bank Ltd shares are down 2.04%, trading at ₹1,237.00 on the BSE, with the bank slated to announce its Q1 2024-25 financial results today.

Bajaj Finance Ltd shares are down 2.34%, trading at ₹6,574.75 on the BSE, ahead of its Q1 2024-25 financial results which are to be announced today.

United Spirits Ltd shares rose 5.81%, trading at ₹1407.50 on the BSE after the beverages giant recorded a 3.5% revenue growth and 2% net profit growth.

The Nifty bank index is currently down 0.62% or 322.30 points at 51,456.00, dragged down by Bandhan Bank (-1.90%), Axis Bank (-1.44%), SBI (-0.83%), and ICICI Bank (-0.79%).

The 10 year Indian sovereign government bond is up 0.06%, at ₹100.88

The Nifty sectoral indices showed Bank, auto, and FMCG stocks in the red, while the rest are in the green. Banks and PSU ban shares lost thelost at 0.54% and 0.56% respectively

All Nifty sectoral indices remain in the green, except the benchmark Nifty 50. Volatility less as Nifty VIX is down 3.35%

The Nifty FMCG index was down 0.13% or 78.15 points at 62,433.10 after a 2.5% gain in yesterday’s trading session.

The benchmark indices still remain flat in the red with the BSE Sensex down 0.07% or 58.74 points at 80,370.30 and the Nifty down 0.12% or 28.95 points at 24,450.10.

Brent Crude is currently trading at $81.24 a barrel, up 0.28%, while WTI crude is up 0.30%, trading at $77.19 a barrel

Adani Green Energy Ltd shares are trading at ₹1734.65, a 0.98% gain on the BSE after it operationalises the 250 MW wind energy project at Khavda, Kutchh, Gujarat.

Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Nestle India ltd, and Bajaj Finance ltd lost the most in the early trading session. HUL is at 2681.85, a 3.06% drop. Nestle is at ₹2524.40, a 2.17 % drop, and Bajaj Finance is at ₹6601.70, a 1.94% drop.

ITC Ltd, Titan Company Ltd, and Tata Motors Ltd gain the most early on in the trading session. ITC is at ₹507.70, a 3.18 % gain. Titan is at ₹3540.10, a 2.07 % gain, and Tata Motors is at ₹1020.50, a 1.91 % gain.

A total of 67 companies are slated to present their quarterly earnings results for the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 on July 24, including Larsen & Toubro, Axis Bank, JSW Holdings, and Bajaj Finserv.

The benchmark BSE Sensex opened at 80,343.38, while the NSE Nifty opened at 24,444.95.

Both the benchmark Nifty and Sensex enters red in the pre-open session after slight optimism. The Nifty is currently at 24,433.50, a 0.19% or 45.55 point drop and the Sensex is at 80,357.61, a 0.09% or 71.43 point drop.

The BSE Sensex went red again after pre-opening in the green. It is currently at 80,310.89, a 0.15% or 118.15 point drop.

The Indian Rupee is currently at 83.6962 against the US Dollar, which is a 0% gain or dip.

The benchmark BSE Sensex pre-opened in the green at 81,781.67, a 1.68% or 1.352.63 point gain from the previous close.

Stock Market Live Updates: On Budget Day, the Indian benchmark indices closed in red for the fifth consecutive year. Sensex and Nifty 50 were down around 0.1% each and the Nifty Bank index dropping about 1%.
