WEST POINT, Ga. (WTVM) – Hyundai Transys is making a nearly $560 million investment to expand its West Point manufacturing capabilities, creating 320 new jobs, Governor Brian P. Kemp announced Thursday.
The major expansion will take place at 6801 Kia Parkway and will include extensive upgrades to plants one and two, alongside the construction of a third facility. The project is designed to bolster production capacity for electrified powertrains used in hybrid vehicles.

“The Hyundai family of brands has been an incredible partner to Georgia, and this decision by Hyundai Transys only reinforces that valued friendship,” Governor Kemp said.
Hyundai Transys currently supports roughly 1,250 jobs at its West Point location. Company executives note that this milestone investment strengthens future mobility efforts and long-term sustainable growth within the community.
“This additional investment marks an important milestone that demonstrates Hyundai Transys’ firm commitment to our long-term partnership with the State of Georgia,” said Jaekyun Choi, President of Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain.
Local leaders praised the ongoing economic growth in Troup County, noting the positive ripple effects for residents and the regional automotive ecosystem.
“The retention of more than 1,200 jobs and creation of over 300 new positions reflects the strength of West Point’s automotive industry and creates meaningful opportunity for our residents,” said West Point Mayor Steve Tramell.
