As of The Real Housewives of New York City‘s Season 16 premiere, Sai De Silva‘s marriage to David Craig was already crumbling. Prior to David eventually filing for divorce in April 2026, Sai claimed on RHONY that her husband of nine years was not providing adequate financial support for their family of four.
Sai’s confession arrived amid a sit-down in her new Manhattan apartment with Season 16 castmate and “new best friend,” Jessel Taank. Though she told Jessel that their two children, London and Rio, loved their new home in NYC’s Financial District, Sai added that she didn’t “really care” how David felt about the move from their Brooklyn townhouse.
“We’ve completely drifted apart,” Sai explained to Jessel. “We do nothing together. All I do is work. I get up and I work, on top of, like, carrying the entire house, taking care of the kids, filling out forms, doing all their clothes, like, figuring out what you guys are going to eat… Like, I feel like I’m financially supporting this family. When Jessel asked what David is doing every day, Sai answered, “He finally got a job, but it’s… it’s just not enough.” Jessel, meanwhile, remarked that she thought David had retired and, after selling his business, was “supporting you guys through some means.”
Sai’s one-word response? “Surprise.”

Eleven years into her job as a lifestyle content creator, Sai highlighted the fact that she is now “one of the faces of Maybelline” and had recently shot a “worldwide campaign” for the cosmetic brand’s new foundation.
“That is very exciting,” she gushed. “For me to come in and be able to shoot with Maybelline is definitely a pinch-me moment, so that’s been really great. And then I’m also focused on a project that is launching in September. I’m super excited, and that’s right around the corner for me.”
Why Sai Da Silva kept her marital issues and separation from David Craig a secret
In a confessional during RHONY‘s Sept. 8 episode, Jessel admitted that Sai had “definitely been dropping breadcrumbs” that she and David were going through a “rough patch” over the last few months. “But before that, she always projected she was in a happy marriage,” she added.
As Sai put it in a separate producer interview, “I’m kind of living a lie.” Back in her new apartment, she broke down into tears, elaborating, “I kept it from everyone because I’m…
