MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A Grand Strand real estate agent will be featured in a new HGTV series that focuses on the home-buying process with a modern twist.
Madison Kehler, a local real estate agent, was selected to appear in an episode of the new show that filmed along the Grand Strand several months ago.
The episode will air Jan. 21 at 9 p.m.
The season began airing on Dec. 9 and will run new episodes every Wednesday at 9 p.m. The show focuses on bringing a modern twist to house buying, which Kehler believes was an inspiration for the name.
“The name is definitely bold, it’s exciting and fun, but I think it just goes exactly for what they want with this new TV series to be like, right? They wanted a more modern take on how real estate agents are nowadays,” Kehler said.
Kehler said filming took about three days, which she described as consuming despite the relatively short timeframe.
“It’s all real,” she said. “It was my buyers who had bought something with me a year ago, and the production was a three-day production. They followed me around with cameras, mics, it was the whole nine yards that I definitely wasn’t used to. It’s a really cool experience.”
Her episode showcases oceanfront properties, focusing on three resorts and the real process of taking buyers on tours.
“My episode, in general, we just showcased the oceanfront, so we’re doing oceanfront condos,” Kehler said. “We do three resorts that we really focus on, and again, it’s the real process of how I took my buyers on tours of the resorts and how they showcased where they really wanted to live.”
Kehler adds that she hasn’t seen any footage since filming and will watch everything for the first time when it airs.
The Grand Strand has become a popular filming location in recent months, previously hosting Netflix’s “Outer Banks” series.
