The local CPA firm has six partners and approximately 90 staff located in offices in Santa Rosa and Petaluma. By joining forces with Sorren, that reach extends to 1,000 employees across 20 offices nationwide.
Pisenti & Brinker, a certified public accounting and advisory firm serving Sonoma County since 1965, has joined forces with Idaho-based Sorren, a new national company comprised of 13 accounting and financial services firms.
The move broadens Pisenti & Brinker’s reach to a national level, the firm announced May 16.
Pisenti & Brinker has six partners and approximately 90 staff located in offices in Santa Rosa and Petaluma. Sorren has 1,000 employees across 20 offices nationwide.

Now, we’re even better equipped to help it thrive,” said Joshua Moore, Pisenti & Brinker partner and Sorren office partner-in-charge. “This isn’t just about growth for growth’s sake – it’s about combining our strengths to deliver smarter solutions, deeper insights and more strategic guidance, all without sacrificing the local relationships and personal service that our firm is built upon.”
Sorren’s lead investor was New York-based private equity firm DFW Capital Partners, Sorren stated in its own announcement. The amount of DFW’s investment was not disclosed.
“Our local business community is growing more sophisticated and facing more complex challenges,” Josh Tyree, president of Sorren, stated in Pisenti & Brinker’s press release. “By coming together as Sorren, we’re strengthening our ability to meet those challenges with deeper expertise, expanded services and smarter solutions — all while staying rooted here in the North Bay.”
The new entity reflects a broader trend in the accounting industry, with mergers and private equity investments reshaping how firms grow and serve clients, the Business Journal reported June 5.
In 2019, Pisenti & Brinker merged with Zainer Rinehart Clarke, both based in Santa Rosa, to expand wine industry services. The same year, Montgomery Taylor Wealth Management acquired Stephen Imboden’s CPA firm to broaden its financial services.
